Senior Legal Counsel - Turkey & Eurasia

About the role

Mondelēz International is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for its Turkey & Eurasia (TREA) region, covering Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and neighbouring markets. As the lead in-house counsel for the cluster, you will advise senior management, support all departments and legal entities, and act as a member of the TREA Management Table. The role sits within a regional business model managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal strategies that protect people, assets and reputation while complying with legal requirements and ethical standards.
• Advise business units, regions and global stakeholders on applicable laws and regulatory changes, and guide managers on legal risks.
• Manage legal disputes with third parties, draft pre-action correspondence and instruct external counsel, including managing spending.
• Lead and develop the TREA legal team, build a succession pipeline and train employees, including senior executives.
• Handle blue-collar labour relations and collective bargaining across two manufacturing plants.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise on them, and join the special situation management team as deputy SSMT coordinator.
• Oversee the use of AI tools and technology in the legal function and streamline legal processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Law; bar license is a plus.
• 10+ years of practical experience as a legal consultant or counsel in an international company.
• Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and understanding of diverse legal frameworks, including links to EU markets.
• Ability to collaborate across a matrix organisation (country, cluster, business unit, region, global).
• Ad-hoc travel across Turkey and Eurasia to meet local management, government bodies and plant activities; no relocation support available.

Required skills

• Digital fluency and proven practical use of AI applications in a legal environment.
• Excellent verbal and written English; additional TREA languages are a strong advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure, solve legal problems and adapt quickly.
