Accountant – Inventory and Fixed Assets

About the role

Mattel is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Accountant to join its Accounting team. The role suits someone with a few years of experience who wants to deepen their technical accounting knowledge in a multinational setting. The main focus is inventory accounting and fixed assets, with support for month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger work and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inventory accounting: monthly reconciliations between the General Ledger, inventory subledger, warehouse records and other systems; investigating differences and unusual transactions; monitoring inventory in transit, goods receipts, adjustments, returns and write-offs; preparing and posting month-end inventory journal entries and accruals.
• Fixed assets: keeping accurate records, ensuring correct categorisation and depreciation, monitoring assets under construction and preparing fixed asset schedules for audits.
• Month-end closing and general accounting: taking part in monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, posting journal entries, accruals and adjustments, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and assisting the Accounting Manager and other finance colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• About 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or structured corporate environment.
• Good understanding of accounting fundamentals and the link between income statement, balance sheet and General Ledger.
• Previous exposure to inventory accounting, month-end closing and account reconciliation is an advantage.
• Very good command of written and spoken English; US GAAP and/or IFRS exposure is an advantage.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups and data analysis.
• ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP or similar (an advantage).
• Analytical, detail-oriented and ownership mindset, with organisation and communication skills.

• Gross annual salary range of TRY 1,520,000 - TRY 1,805,000.
