Assistant Sales Manager, Group & Events

About the role

The Assistant Sales Manager – Group & Events will support the sales team at Fairmont Quasar Istanbul, driving group and event business across rooms, banquet and conference services. You will work closely with clients and internal departments to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and events.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and execute sales call programmes, visiting existing and potential clients to generate demand and increase business volume.
• Develop in‑depth knowledge of competitors’ products and market conditions to identify opportunities and maximise hotel revenue.
• Plan, coordinate, train and support cross‑functional teams to deliver service standards aligned with segment expectations.
• Communicate event and booking details clearly and promptly to operational teams and relevant departments.
• Follow up on inquiries and bookings, negotiate with clients and convert business for Fairmont Quasar Istanbul.
• Prepare contracts and pro‑forma invoices, monitor pre‑payments and contractual processes.
• Conduct site inspections, menu tastings and attend pre‑convention meetings as required.
• Build long‑term relationships with key accounts, focusing on repeat and future business.
• Identify and maximise sales opportunities across rooms, events and banquet operations to increase overall revenue.
• Provide accurate availability and rate information for guest rooms and banquet events in line with sales strategies.

Required profile

• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a passion for hospitality.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
