Senior Java Software Engineer – Digital Banking

About the role

A consultancy firm specialising in banking and financial services is looking for experienced Java developers to build high-performance, scalable digital solutions for its clients. The role focuses on backend development within a microservices ecosystem, with collaboration on ReactJS frontend integration. Key responsibilities

• Design and implement digital solutions using modern design patterns and a robust microservice architecture.
• Collaborate on ReactJS frontend integration to deliver a seamless end-to-end user experience.
• Build resilient asynchronous systems using RabbitMQ or Kafka for high-volume data streams.
• Implement and optimise the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for system observability.
• Use Redis for caching and optimise data persistence with JPA/Hibernate.
• Write testable, maintainable code following clean code principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Java-based software development.
• Strong commitment to clean code, TDD and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional, global teams.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate and microservice architecture.
• RabbitMQ / Kafka and distributed caching with Redis.
• Familiarity with the ELK stack; basic ReactJS is a strong asset.
