Director of Finance and Accounting

About the role

The company, an established international trading firm operating in Turkey and abroad, seeks a proactive Director of Finance and Accounting. Reporting directly to the CEO of Turkey and collaborating with the Group CFO and Dubai entity, you will be the senior financial voice guiding commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full financial picture – P&L, balance sheet, cash position, and working‑capital cycle – and present insights with commercial context.
• Partner with the commercial team to challenge assumptions, validate margins, and flag risks before deals are executed.
• Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting using scenario‑based, forward‑looking approaches.
• Structure, negotiate and manage trade‑finance instruments (LCs, guarantees, performance bonds, documentary collections, supplier financing).
• Develop and maintain banking relationships locally and internationally, securing credit facilities and optimal LC terms.
• Manage FX exposure across TRY, USD and EUR with a focus on actual business risk.
• Design and operate the financial risk framework covering credit, commodity price, FX, concentration and working‑capital risks.
• Build risk‑reporting dashboards for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in finance leadership within a trading or commodity‑focused environment.
• Proven ability to make rapid, data‑driven decisions that influence commercial outcomes.
• Strong understanding of trade finance, banking products and FX risk management.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to non‑financial stakeholders.

Required skills

• Trade finance instruments (Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Performance Bonds, Documentary Collections).
• FX risk management across multiple currencies.
• Financial risk assessment (credit, commodity price, concentration, working‑capital).
