Account Sales Engineer

About the role

The Account Sales Engineer (ASE) partners with the District Sales Manager and Product Specialist Sales Engineer to drive account strategies, targeting both end users and machine builders. The role focuses on achieving quota for assigned accounts while embodying Cognex's core values of working hard, playing hard, and moving fast.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, manage and close profitable business within assigned accounts and uncover cross‑selling opportunities.
• Engage stakeholders to understand client objectives, build trust relationships, and develop a 12‑24 month pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Demonstrate Cognex products using the standard sales process and lead contract negotiations ensuring compliance.
• Collaborate with integration partners, support trade shows, coordinate evaluations with the Applications Engineering team, and maintain accurate forecasting.

Required profile

• Proven sales performance in automation or a similar industry, with experience in complex, solution‑based sales cycles.
• Strong ability to build long‑term account and partner relationships, work independently, and travel intensively across the territory.
• University degree or equivalent experience, with a track record of exceeding sales targets.
• Experience selling technical and vision products is preferred.
