Legal & Compliance Counsel

About the role

AppNation is seeking a Legal & Compliance Counsel to support the development and scaling of AI‑powered mobile experiences. You will work closely with Product, Marketing and other teams to provide practical legal guidance across app store compliance, intellectual property, privacy and emerging AI regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to Product, Marketing and other teams, identifying and mitigating legal risks across mobile apps and commercial initiatives.
• Monitor App Store and platform policies, support teams through product development, launch and post‑launch compliance.
• Advise on intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, copyright protection and brand protection.
• Support data privacy and consumer protection compliance, ensuring alignment with applicable laws.
• Guide legal and regulatory requirements for AI‑powered features, including emerging AI regulations.
• Coordinate legal projects with external law firms, managing communication, timelines and stakeholders.
• Own end‑to‑end legal processes from research to implementation while staying current on technology and policy developments.

Required profile

• 3+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in technology, digital products or mobile applications.
• Strong knowledge of commercial law, intellectual property, data privacy, consumer protection and technology‑related regulations.
• Familiarity with App Store and digital platform policies and ability to apply them to mobile and AI products.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end legal processes independently.
• Experience coordinating with external law firms and handling multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex legal requirements into clear guidance.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented, solution‑focused mindset with strong ownership.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
