Mobile Engineer – React Native

About the role

Join a fully remote engineering team building innovative peer‑to‑peer mobile technology for secure, decentralized communication. You will develop and enhance a cross‑platform application for iOS and Android using React Native and Expo.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a cross‑platform peer‑to‑peer mobile app, owning features from implementation through testing and release.
• Build and refine messaging, voice/video calls, media sharing, device pairing, and identity backup features.
• Integrate native capabilities such as push notifications, camera access, biometric authentication, and background tasks.
• Profile and optimise performance on real devices, focusing on startup time, battery consumption and network usage.
• Write and maintain unit and end‑to‑end tests, support CI workflows and crash reporting.

Required profile

• Substantial experience in React Native development and strong JavaScript (ES6+) skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and collaborating across product, design and core engineering teams.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail and fluent English communication.

• React Native, Expo, JavaScript (ES6+)
• Redux and Redux‑Saga for state management
• WebSockets and RESTful API integration
• iOS (Swift, Xcode) and Android (Kotlin, Android Studio) native development basics
• Performance profiling, debugging and testing tools
