Mechanical Manager – Engineering

About the role

Çalık Enerji, an energy company founded in 1998 and active across CIS countries, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, Europe and the Balkans, is looking for a Mechanical Manager within its Engineering Division at its headquarters in Istanbul. The role covers the mechanical side of high-scale EPC power plant projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the selection, sizing and verification of critical equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, compressors and cooling towers for large EPC projects.
• Lead the preparation of complex material requisitions and take final responsibility for Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
• Manage technical relations with global vendors and subcontractors.
• Review and approve vendor documents so they comply with project specifications and international codes (EN, ASME, API, TEMA, etc.).
• Coordinate the mechanical team with Process, Civil and Electrical departments to avoid design conflicts.
• Promote international standards and internal engineering best practices across all mechanical deliverables.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant experience (typically 15+ years) in mechanical engineering for power plants (simple or combined cycle).
• Deep expertise in static and rotating equipment, thermal cycles and mechanical balance of plant (BOP).
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken, is essential for global coordination.
• Willingness to travel internationally for technical meetings, factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site visits.

Required skills
