Senior Manager, Credit Risk – Financial Services Risk Management

About the role

EY's Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice, part of its Risk Advisory unit, advises financial institutions and capital markets participants on market, credit and operational risk, regulatory and treasury matters. It is looking for a Senior Manager to join the FSRM team in Istanbul.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as an integral member of an engagement team, leading client advisory projects, managing project work, budgets and staffing projections, and coordinating day-to-day with clients.
• Advise clients on credit risk topics, including credit risk modelling and validation, quantitative methods and tools for credit risk measurement, and IFRS 9, Basel IV, BRSA guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
• Advise on climate and sustainability-related financial risks, credit decision support systems, credit policy and process enhancement, credit risk monitoring and early warning systems, credit risk measurement and regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• A relevant university degree, preferably in finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, data science or a related field; an MBA or MS preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in banking or capital markets at a commercial bank with a well-developed credit risk infrastructure, or as an advisor to a financial services company.
• Experience in credit risk management, rating systems, modelling and validation, IFRS 9 impairment, climate-related risk management, regulatory capital and/or capital markets.
• Experience in credit decision systems, credit lifecycle applications, credit risk and collection strategies, and limit and income estimation models.
• Ability to discuss credit risk, RAPM and economic capital with counterparts at financial institutions.
• Male candidates must have fulfilled or postponed their military service obligations.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and knowledge of credit risk measurement and management.
• Experience with R, Python, SQL, SAS or similar software development environments.
• Broad consulting and project management skills, and effective written and oral communication.
• A professional certification such as FRM, SMMM or CFE is a significant plus.
