System Administrator – Grid Software Solutions

About the role

Join Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s Grid Software division as a System Administrator. You will support the design, deployment and operation of complex IT infrastructures that enable energy automation and smart‑grid products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install, configure and maintain LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls and network monitoring systems.
• Deploy, patch, upgrade and migrate Oracle Database servers while monitoring health, performance and security.
• Administer version‑control tools such as Git and Subversion.
• Implement security services, harden operating systems and ensure compliance with Siemens security standards across embedded, web, mobile, cloud and IoT environments.
• Maintain software licensing agreements and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical‑Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a System or Network Administrator.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in an enterprise environment.

Required skills

• Linux, Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Virtualisation technologies: Red Hat KVM, OpenShift, VMware, Proxmox.
• Network design and implementation: core routers, switches, firewalls, MPLS, DMVPN.
• Version control: Git, Subversion.
• Oracle Database administration.
• Shell scripting (Bash, etc.).
• Programming basics in Java or Python (optional).
