Accounting Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

The Accounting Controller will proactively monitor the quality of the balance sheet and income statement for the assigned legal entity, ensure compliance with international and local accounting standards, and serve as the primary finance contact for tax, audit and banking matters.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the quality of the balance sheet and income statement for the assigned legal entity in collaboration with business partners.
• Lead the periodic month‑end reporting and ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP and statutory requirements.
• Act as the primary local contact for finance, tax, audit and banking relationships, handling statutory audits, tax filings and cash‑flow management.
• Drive standardisation of retained accounting processes and support cross‑functional finance improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 8 + years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, proactive attitude and ability to work under tight month‑end deadlines.
• Fluent in English and Turkish, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Financial accounting processes (R2R, I2P, I2C, Tax).
• IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAP and SOX compliance.
• ERP systems – SAP, HFM and Merlin (or willingness to learn).
• Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities.
