Accounting & Finance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting & Finance Specialist to join the Finance department of DP World, a global logistics and transportation company, supporting and executing day‑to‑day accounting and finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record and control daily financial transactions in the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and allocations.
• Support month‑end closing activities and meet strict corporate deadlines.
• Perform regular reconciliations for bank, customer, supplier/vendor, and intercompany accounts.
• Process, verify, and control vendor invoices for carriers, shipping lines, and trucking companies.
• Verify invoices against shipment files, rate agreements, and supporting documents.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in customer, vendor, or intercompany accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, provisions, and prepayments.
• Contribute to monthly VAT return preparation in line with local tax regulations.
• Coordinate with commercial and operations teams for billing, costing, and profitability support.
• Flag non‑routine transactions or deviations for manager approval.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Fluent in written and spoken Turkish and English.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multicultural teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
