Android Developer – Build Next‑Gen Banking App

About the role

As an Android Developer at bunq you will help shape a banking app that feels smooth, responsive and enjoyable for millions of users worldwide. You will build new features, fix bugs and continuously improve performance and stability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a stable, highly reliable app by proactively identifying, analysing and fixing crashes, bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Own end‑to‑end implementation of new features, delivering high‑quality updates quickly.
• Drive the architectural vision by writing clean, testable and maintainable code.
• Use Kotlin, coroutines and flows to build scalable, performant applications.
• Apply modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM/MVI) and Jetpack libraries, especially Compose.
• Debug and profile the app to resolve crashes, memory leaks and performance issues.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of Kotlin and ability to write clean, idiomatic code.
• Expert‑level experience with modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM/MVI).
• Extensive experience with Jetpack libraries, particularly Compose.
• Strong debugging and profiling skills.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to take full ownership from code to user experience.
• Fluent English for effective communication in a global team.
