Art Director - Draft Showdown

About the role

Voodoo, a consumer tech company founded in Paris in 2013, is hiring an Art Director for its newly established internal studio working on a high-potential prototype. The studio is dedicated to improving this game into a market-ready title and works across the midcore game portfolio, which demands a rich visual language with compelling character and environment art, combat feedback and cohesive world-building.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the overall artistic vision of the game, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment with creative and commercial goals.
• Establish and maintain a cohesive visual style across UI/UX, characters, environments, VFX and animation.
• Lead, mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary art team, giving clear creative direction and actionable feedback.
• Work closely with the General Manager to align visual direction with gameplay intent and player experience.
• Create and govern visual style guides, asset pipelines and quality benchmarks.
• Contribute hands-on to key art assets and concepting where needed.
• Use live data, competitor analysis and playtesting insights to refine the visual experience.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Art Director or Senior Lead Artist on at least one shipped mobile title, ideally in the midcore genre.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of a game's visual identity, from concept to live product.
• Deep understanding of the visual language of midcore games, including character design, environment art, UI/UX and combat feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary art teams in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Fluent in English.

Required skills

• Hands-on proficiency in Unity, with the ability to implement, integrate and optimise assets in-engine.
• AI-first mindset: comfortable using AI daily and building custom agents or automations.
