Backend Software Engineer – Distributed Game Services

About the role

Good Job Games is seeking a passionate Backend Software Engineer to design and implement high‑performance, distributed services that power its mobile puzzle games. You will join a fast‑growing team in Istanbul, working on systems that serve billions of players worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain distributed, low‑latency game services.
• Develop internal tools for operations, data analysis, and automation.
• Support and empower cross‑functional teams across the company.
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture through learning, teaching, and mentorship.
• Guide junior engineers and help shape architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Solid understanding of distributed, highly scalable, fault‑tolerant backend architectures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Go, including advanced language features.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of NoSQL and in‑memory databases.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
