Chief Accountant

About the role

Ajax Systems is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its finance function for the Turkish manufacturing entity. The role combines team leadership, full‑cycle reporting, and implementation of SAP while ensuring compliance with Free Zone regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of two finance and accounting professionals, organizing workload and ensuring high‑quality output.
• Take end‑to‑end responsibility for tax, statutory, and Group Management/IFRS reporting, and supervise successful Big 4 audits.
• Lead the design, implementation and rollout of SAP ERP for the local entity.
• Reconcile customs records with local bookkeeping and oversee scrapping, inventory, and component returns.
• Review payroll calculations, social security compliance, and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
• Maintain direct liaison with Turkish tax authorities, customs officials and Desbas Free Zone administration.
• Monitor transfer pricing compliance and control gross margin for the entity.
• Perform ad‑hoc finance, operational and business tasks as assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• 5+ years in a senior accounting/finance leadership role within a manufacturing enterprise.
• Deep understanding of Turkish Free Zone regulations and related tax incentives.
• Fluent Turkish (native) and upper‑intermediate/advanced English.
