Common Premises Project Coordinator – Istanbul (16.5 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the Common Premises Project in Istanbul for a 16.5‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will support space‑needs assessments, floor‑plan development, and technical quality assurance for a multi‑agency office complex.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct space‑needs assessments and support space planning for the Common Premises Project.
• Prepare detailed floor plans and technical drawings in line with UN requirements.
• Provide technical quality assurance and act as liaison with government authorities on construction, interior design and fit‑out matters.
• Verify permits, compliance documentation and assess readiness for hand‑over.
• Coordinate with CPWG Co‑Chairs, WHO, UNDP and UNICEF representatives, and support the Project Management Board (PMB) in decision‑making.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and overseeing building construction or interior design for administrative/office buildings.
• Proficiency in Turkish and English.
• Certification in Project Management is desirable.
• Familiarity with international standards such as the International Building Code (IBC) and Turkish building regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and other technical design tools.
• Experience using project‑management software and Gantt‑chart tools.
• Knowledge of IBC and Turkish building codes.
