Compliance Manager - Turkey

About the role

Outpost is cross-border commerce infrastructure, built by veterans of Revolut, Adyen, Airwallex and Wayflyer, and operates local entities across 58 jurisdictions. It is building a local team in Turkey and needs a Compliance Manager, a foundational hire for its Turkish operations. You will own compliance on the ground, keeping the model trusted with partners, merchants and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the local compliance programme: policies, controls, monitoring and reporting aligned with the global framework
• Apply global AML and sanctions standards locally, including merchant due diligence (KYB), ongoing monitoring and escalation of unusual activity
• Review merchants against Turkish consumer-protection and e-commerce rules before and after go-live
• Oversee refund, chargeback and dispute patterns from a compliance and fraud perspective, working with payment partners
• Maintain the compliance obligations tracker and ensure one-off and recurring obligations are met on time
• Act as local point of contact for compliance with the licensed payment provider and banking partners, including due-diligence and audit requests
• Support correspondence with the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye and other authorities, together with global legal and local counsel
• Monitor Turkish regulatory developments and flag implications for Outpost and merchants
• Work with finance and operations on tax, invoicing and fund-repatriation compliance, and train colleagues on Turkish compliance requirements

Required profile

• 5+ years in compliance at a Turkish payment institution, e-money institution or PSP
• Hands-on AML/KYC and fraud experience, including merchant onboarding and transaction monitoring
• Strong working knowledge of Turkey's payment-services framework, CBRT regulations and financial-crime expectations
• Familiarity with Turkish consumer-protection, e-commerce and data-protection rules is advantageous
• Experience dealing with regulators, acquirers or bank compliance teams
• Comfortable in fast-moving, internationally distributed teams
• Fluent Turkish; working English required
