Compliance Officer (Junior)

About the role

Karadeniz Holding, a group founded in 1948 focused on energy and shipbuilding, is expanding its team and is looking for a Compliance Officer (Junior) with 3-5 years of experience in compliance or legal advisory. The position is based in the Legal Department at the Istanbul headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and day-to-day operation of the company's compliance program in line with regulatory standards.
• Monitor developments in international sanctions regimes and trade embargoes and help ensure organizational compliance.
• Support export control compliance, including classification, licensing support and screening.
• Support internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements and compliance-related risk mitigation.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR and KVKK (Turkey).
• Contribute to preparing and delivering internal compliance trainings.
• Help maintain and update compliance policies, procedures and reporting mechanisms, and support compliance monitoring, reviews and documentation.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of professional experience in compliance, regulatory advisory or legal practice.
• Experience supporting compliance programs, including policy implementation, training support, monitoring and reporting.
• Preferably experience in the legal or compliance departments of multinationals or in law firms providing regulatory or compliance advice.
• Excellent command of English with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of international sanctions and trade embargoes, anti-bribery and anti-corruption rules, KYC programs and U.S. frameworks such as OFAC and FCPA.
• Knowledge of corporate compliance frameworks, internal policies and personal data protection laws; antitrust/competition law is preferred.
• Strong legal drafting and analytical skills.
• Solution-oriented, organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
