Country Design Lead, Turkey (12‑month contract)

About the role

As the Country Design Lead for Turkey, you will shape Canva’s creative direction for one of its key growth markets, ensuring all content feels genuinely local, culturally resonant, and valuable to Turkish users.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive the creative direction for the Turkish market, translating country strategy into culturally relevant templates and assets across social media, presentations, websites, and print.
• Oversee content creation and curation—from design kits and campaign assets to creator briefs—maintaining Canva’s visual quality and cultural authenticity.
• Leverage AI tools and scalable workflows to accelerate production while preserving craft.
• Lead quality control across all outputs, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and high design standards.
• Manage and mentor local freelance designers and creators, providing clear briefs, structured feedback, and ongoing direction.
• Collaborate with the Country Content Strategy Lead, Marketing, SEO, and Community teams to align on creative goals.
• Conduct content audits and performance analysis to identify gaps and opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong design portfolio demonstrating visual craft and cultural sensitivity.
• Excitement about using AI tools as creative accelerators.
• Deep understanding of Turkish culture, design aesthetics, and consumer behaviour.
• Ability to juggle multiple workstreams in a fast‑moving environment without compromising quality.
• Experience working with freelancers or creators, including briefing and reviewing talent.
• Strong collaborator who quickly builds trust across teams, functions, and time zones.
