Data Engineer

About the role

Join Turkey's largest fitness community as a Data Engineer in our Technology team at the Ortaköy Head Office. You will help modernize our data architecture and enable data‑driven decisions across membership, finance, marketing and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize the existing Oracle/ODI data warehouse while driving modernization efforts.
• Design, build and maintain scalable batch and incremental pipelines for data from CRM, finance, mobile, web and marketing sources.
• Leverage GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI) to support reporting, analytics and machine‑learning workloads.
• Develop robust data models, dimensional schemas and data marts for consistent KPI tracking.
• Collaborate with Data Science and AI Engineering teams to prepare datasets and pipelines for model training, deployment and monitoring.
• Implement automated data‑quality checks, testing and CI/CD workflows to ensure reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Software, Mathematical or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on data‑engineering experience, including ETL development and data‑warehouse management.
• Strong communication skills in English and Turkish, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
• Advanced SQL and Python programming.
• Experience with modern analytical platforms such as BigQuery, Snowflake, ClickHouse or Apache Doris.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub.
• Data modeling, dimensional modeling, star schema and slowly changing dimensions.
• Workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, dbt or Dataform.
• API integration and Change Data Capture (CDC) techniques.
• Data‑quality frameworks, testing, monitoring and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Building datasets for Power BI reporting.
