Design Engineer

About the role

Lead the end‑to‑end design and development of complex mechanical components and assemblies, from concept through series production, within a global engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Generate, evaluate and optimise robust solutions using design thinking and a holistic system perspective.
• Drive 3D modelling, tolerance stack‑ups and advanced calculations (stress, thermal, durability) while ensuring manufacturability, cost‑effectiveness and standards compliance.
• Own the lifecycle management of designs from requirements and prototyping to validation, production and continuous improvement.
• Manage supplier technical alignment, from feasibility studies to design validation, balancing performance, cost and quality.
• Apply quality and risk management tools (DFMEA, DRBFM, 8D, FTA) to prevent issues and ensure design robustness.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, special characteristics and justification reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing parts and assemblies for series production, preferably in HVAC.
• Strong command of GD&T, material selection, tolerance analysis and lifecycle management practices.
• Experience in supplier management, cross‑functional collaboration and technical negotiations.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.

Required skills

• Advanced CAD/PLM systems: UG NX, Teamcenter, SAP.
• CAE tools: Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Modern manufacturing methods: plastics, die casting, machining, sealing technologies.
• Quality and risk tools: DFMEA, DRBFM, 8D, FTA.
• GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection.
