Design Engineer – Robotics & Automation

About the role

MET İleri Teknoloji Sistemleri is seeking a seasoned Design Engineer to lead the creation of advanced robotic cells and custom automation machinery. You will own the full mechanical design lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, ensuring robust, manufacturable solutions for specialized applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete 3D models of robotic cells, material handling systems, and special‑purpose machines using SolidWorks.
• Perform physics‑based calculations for motor sizing, gearbox selection, belt and pulley forces, and pneumatic flow.
• Utilise advanced SolidWorks modules (Weldments, Sheet Metal, Motion Analysis) for detailed design work.
• Select and integrate motion components such as ball screws, linear guides, servo/stepper drives, and industrial robots, as well as safety hardware like laser scanners.
• Create production‑ready drawings with GD&T and manage BOMs, sourcing components that meet IP65 or hygienic standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers to procure parts and validate designs through FEA or simulation tools.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in machine design, automation, or robotics.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Current residence in, or ability to commute to, Urla, İzmir, Turkey.
• Legal authorization to work in Turkey.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (large assemblies, weldments, sheet metal, motion analysis).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and component sizing.
• Basic FEA skills using SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Programming for engineering calculations in Python or MATLAB.
• Fluent in Turkish and English for technical communication.
