Director of Civil Engineering

About the role

The Director of Civil Engineering will lead the engineering segment for UABOS Turkey, overseeing design, construction, and maintenance of critical infrastructure supporting U.S. armed forces bases in Turkey.

Key responsibilities

• Direct study, design, specification, and delivery of transportation systems, bridges, drainage, underground utilities, water and wastewater treatment, and geotechnical works.
• Supervise and lead a team of engineers, set technical standards, conduct performance appraisals, and participate in hiring.
• Manage a measurable asset including staff and budget, ensure compliance with USAFE/AFIA inspections and award submissions.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) registration.
• DoD installation‑level experience and at least ten years in engineering design, construction, and maintenance, with five years in supervision.

Required skills

• Design of transportation systems (road, rail, airport, seaport) and bridges.
• Infrastructure, drainage, underground utilities, hydrology/hydraulics, water treatment and distribution.
• Wastewater collection and treatment, water resources, raw water supply, tunnel and geotechnical design.
