Director of Spa

About the role

Aliée, the flagship luxury lifestyle hotel within the Tersane Istanbul, is looking for a Spa Director to define its wellness offering. This is a founding-member role in a new luxury brand, shaping the future of the wellness destination from the start. The Spa Director leads all aspects of spa operations, curates guest journeys, inspires a high-performing team and safeguards the brand's wellness vision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall operation of the spa and implement its strategic vision in line with the Aliée brand.
• Recruit, train, coach and inspire therapists, reception, fitness and wellness staff.
• Manage budgets, revenue strategies, forecasting, payroll and cost control.
• Drive retail performance through product knowledge, merchandising and team development.
• Develop wellness programs, seasonal offerings and signature experiences.
• Maintain hygiene, safety, maintenance and regulatory compliance.
• Build relationships with guests and collaborate with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing and other departments.
• Analyse performance metrics, guest feedback and market trends, and establish links with wellness partners and suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Wellness Management or a related field.
• At least 8 years of leadership experience in luxury spa, wellness or hospitality operations, preferably in an internationally recognised luxury hotel or resort.
• Experience managing or working with multidisciplinary wellness teams (therapists, fitness professionals, nutritionists, medical or clinical practitioners).
• Strong commercial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and revenue optimisation.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of luxury wellness concepts, preventive health, longevity and integrative wellness programming.
• Familiarity with wellness clinics, advanced wellness technologies and medically supervised programs is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in spa management systems, Microsoft Office and operational reporting.
