Electronic Hardware Safety Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Electronic Hardware Safety Engineer to perform safety analysis for next‑generation automotive ECUs, inverters and battery‑management systems. The role involves driving hardware safety metrics, evaluating architectures against ASIL requirements and supporting functional safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety analysis for automotive ECUs, inverters and BMS.
• Drive hardware safety metrics analysis (SPFM, LFM, PMHF).
• Evaluate hardware architectures against safety goals and ASIL requirements.
• Interface with customers, suppliers and external assessors on safety‑related topics.
• Contribute to process improvements and functional safety culture.
• Support project and quality‑management activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in hardware development for safety‑critical automotive systems.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standard.
• Proven experience with FTA, FMEDA and DFA.
• Understanding of safety architectures, diagnostic concepts and safety mechanisms.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Required skills

• ISO 26262 functional safety.
• Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Mode Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA), Design Failure Analysis (DFA).
• Hardware safety metrics: SPFM, LFM, PMHF.
• Experience with semiconductor components, power electronics and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with safety tools such as Ansys Medini Analyze and APIS IQ‑FMEA.
