Experienced U.S. Tax Accountant – Remote (ET)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced U.S. Tax Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients end‑to‑end, from bookkeeping and monthly close through year‑end tax filings, while working remotely on U.S. Eastern Time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review U.S. federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses and foreign‑owned LLCs.
• File annual information returns (Forms 1099/1096) and manage multi‑state sales‑tax compliance.
• Maintain client books, perform journal entries, reconciliations, monthly close and produce financial statements.
• Handle payroll records, employment tax filings and depreciation schedules.
• Lead client onboarding, conduct regular video/phone meetings in English and Turkish, and explain tax results and planning opportunities.
• Collaborate with firm leadership, support junior staff and contribute to process‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on U.S. tax return preparation and bookkeeping.
• Native‑level Turkish and business‑level English.
• Ability to work U.S. Eastern Time consistently from a quiet home office.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• Professional tax software such as Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSeries or ProConnect.
• Practice‑management platform TaxDome.
