Fabric Sourcing Specialist

About the role

SHEIN, a global fashion and lifestyle e-retailer, is looking for a Fabric Sourcing Specialist to research, evaluate and negotiate fabric suppliers across domestic and international markets. The role covers supplier development, price negotiation, sample and bulk order delivery, quality coordination and frequent business travel to fabric markets and factories.

Key responsibilities

• Research, identify and evaluate fabric suppliers (mills, traders, converters) and conduct factory visits, capability assessments, sample quality reviews and performance follow-ups.
• Maintain and update a qualified supplier database by fabric type, MOQ, lead time, quality level, capacity and pricing tier.
• Negotiate fabric pricing, payment terms, MOQs and delivery conditions, benchmark market prices and track cost structures to find savings.
• Support internal teams with supplier quotations, cost comparisons and commercial recommendations.
• Coordinate fabric sample development and approval (lab-dips, strike-offs, yardage submissions) and monitor bulk orders against garment production schedules.
• Investigate fabric quality issues and disputes, coordinate solutions with suppliers and factories, and support claims and corrective actions.
• Travel frequently to fabric markets, supplier factories and production sites in Turkey and, when required, internationally.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, Materials Science or a related field; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Internship or work experience in textile, apparel, fabric mills, garment manufacturing or trading is preferred.
• Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills, and ability to handle multiple sample requests and delivery schedules.
• Willingness to travel frequently and working proficiency in written and spoken English; Chinese is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Fundamental knowledge of fabric categories (woven, knit, denim, functional) and fiber composition (cotton, polyester, viscose, nylon, spandex).
• Ability to read fabric specifications such as GSM, width, shrinkage, color fastness and pilling resistance.
• Basic Excel and data analysis skills for cost tracking, delivery monitoring and supplier performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with fabric dyeing, printing and finishing is a plus.
