Fashion Category Director

About the role

n11, an open market platform with more than 330,000 registered business partners, is looking for a Fashion Category Director. The role defines and executes the long-term category strategy, owns the category's commercial performance and builds strategic partnerships with fashion brands, manufacturers and retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term category strategy, identify new growth opportunities and build a sustainable competitive advantage.
• Own the category's commercial performance, including revenue, profitability, growth and key business KPIs.
• Build strategic partnerships with leading fashion brands, manufacturers and retailers, and lead the sales team through merchant and manufacturer negotiations and commercial terms.
• Develop category sales strategies and plans aligned with company objectives, and partner with sellers to optimise assortment, pricing, promotions and merchandising.
• Analyse market dynamics, customer behaviour and competition to define category strategies and run high-impact campaigns.
• Monitor performance with data-driven insights and coordinate cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, CRM, Pricing, Supply Chain, Analytics, Operations).
• Coach and develop a high-performing commercial team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in fashion retail and/or e-commerce, with a track record in category management, commercial leadership or business development.
• People leader with strong communication, stakeholder management and team-building skills.
• Strong relationships with fashion brands, retailers, manufacturers and industry influencers, and an established fashion industry network.
• Executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, agile environments; e-commerce experience on the brand side and/or marketplace side is highly preferred.
