Head of Accounting and Tax – Manufacturing/Industrial

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Head of Accounting & Tax to lead the accounting, statutory reporting and tax compliance functions for a leading cement producer in Istanbul. The role works closely with the production facility and Group functions to ensure accurate, timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing processes, review entries and maintain accurate general ledger.
• Prepare local statutory financial statements and coordinate IFRS‑compliant reporting.
• Oversee tax compliance, filings, audits and relationships with Turkish tax authorities.
• Manage industrial cost accounting, inventory valuation, fixed‑asset accounting and capital‑expenditure reporting.
• Identify process improvements using SAP S/4HANA and digital tools, and ensure strong internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; SMMM/YMM a plus.
• At least 10 years of progressive accounting and tax experience in a multinational industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish accounting and tax legislation, statutory reporting and IFRS.
• Demonstrated experience with industrial cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets and CAPEX.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Advanced hands‑on SAP S/4HANA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with IFRS reporting.
• Knowledge of Turkish tax regulations (corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, stamp duty).
