Head Waiter

About the role

The Head Waiter plays a key role in the smooth execution of daily floor operations at 7 Mehmet's restaurant in Istanbul, ensuring service standards are consistently met and guests receive attentive, professional service. Working closely with restaurant management, the kitchen and the service team, the Head Waiter supports team coordination, maintains operational discipline and contributes directly to guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily floor and service operations before, during and after service
• Ensure 7 Mehmet's service standards are followed throughout the guest journey
• Organize assigned sections and support table planning according to reservations and operational needs
• Guide and support waiters and service team members during service
• Monitor service flow and respond proactively during high-volume periods
• Keep front-of-house and kitchen teams well coordinated
• Follow guest requests closely and help resolve guest feedback calmly and constructively
• Provide accurate menu guidance and recommendations, and ensure service procedures, table settings, presentation and grooming standards are maintained
• Support opening, closing and shift handover procedures
• Contribute to the onboarding, training and development of service team members
• Maintain hygiene, food safety and occupational health and safety standards

Required profile

• Solid experience in professional restaurant service
• Previous work as Head Waiter, Captain Waiter, Senior Waiter or in a comparable senior service role
• Experience in premium, fine dining, gastronomy-focused or high-volume à la carte restaurants is preferred
• Strong guest relations and hospitality skills, and the ability to coordinate and guide service teams
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and professional presentation
• Ability to stay composed and solution-oriented during demanding service periods

Advantages: experience in premium or fine dining, high-volume environments, guest relations and complaint management, Turkish, Anatolian and Mediterranean gastronomy, and the Istanbul restaurant and hospitality sector.
