Lead Project Controller

About the role

Project Controls aims to ensure rigorous schedule and cost management so projects are delivered on time and within budget. The Lead Project Controller supports this through tools, processes, operating rhythm and people, working on diverse projects in the energy transition. The position is based in Ankara.

Key responsibilities

• Build tender schedules and cost estimates, support tenders and oversee project planning
• Develop project schedules and budgets in relevant tools, and maintain schedule, cost forecasts and actual/committed cost registers
• Monitor cost movements, productivity, scope and progress against forecasts, and analyze trends to provide schedule and cost forecasts
• Maintain schedule and cost risk registers, and keep budgets, actuals, forecasts and change order estimates accurate
• Update systems to reflect current cost and schedule status, and report project status internally and externally
• Communicate cost, schedule, forecast and risks to project teams and cost owners, and present control data in reviews
• Collaborate with PMs, Finance Controllers, cost owners and third parties, and support project closeout and claims
• Ensure compliance with global standards, WBS, processes and tools, reconcile approved project financial data with accounting books, and address non-conformances promptly
• Support cost reduction strategies, improve the efficiency of the cost control team, identify standardization and optimization opportunities, and support lean initiatives
• Demonstrate commitment to health and safety

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; electrical or civil engineering preferred
• At least 4 years of experience planning large turnkey projects
• At least 2 years of cost controlling on large turnkey projects
• Ability to live in Ankara
• Strong oral and written English

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of planning and use of Primavera (MS Project knowledge desired)
• Cost estimating and forecasting
• Desired: knowledge of Grid Solutions and GIS substations, forensic analysis, and cost control on large complex turnkey projects
