About the role
Magna Seating, which develops and manufactures complete seating systems for the automotive, heavy truck and bus industries, is looking for a Manufacturing Automation Engineer in Kocaeli. The engineer supports the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of automation systems used in JIT and JIS operations, combining MES and PLC knowledge with automation engineering to improve safety, quality, productivity and equipment reliability. The role works closely with production, maintenance, quality and IT teams.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing automation systems for JIT and JIS seat production
- Support integration of robotics, vision systems, material handling and automated feeding equipment
- Take part in equipment upgrades, process improvements and new equipment installations
- Support PLC, HMI, robot and vision system development and troubleshooting
- Help commission, test and start up automated equipment
- Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings and system records
- Join continuous improvement initiatives aimed at scrap reduction, downtime reduction, cycle time improvement, labor efficiency and equipment reliability
- Analyse production and equipment data to find trends and improvements
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, automation, controls, PLC or related areas
- Very good knowledge of English
- Experience supporting automation projects in a production environment and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, industrial robotics and automation systems; machine vision, electrical and controls fundamentals preferred
- Residence in Kocaeli
- Flexible hours according to project and production needs
