Material Planning Team Leader

About the role

Yazaki is seeking a Material Planning Team Leader to oversee material planning activities at its Akyazı plant in Sakarya, Turkey. The role combines leadership, process optimisation and close collaboration with production, logistics and suppliers to ensure seamless material flow for automotive manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the material planning team, managing daily operational processes and workflows.
• Conduct morning reviews to monitor material status, anticipate stockouts and trigger corrective actions.
• Approve and execute material orders in line with production schedules and supplier agreements.
• Optimise supplier lead times and minimum order quantities to balance inventory and reduce costs.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with transport providers, integrating warehouse and production activities.
• Act as a mediator across departments to maintain communication and manage operational pressure.
• Ensure timely delivery of material planning reports, operational outputs and KPI tracking.
• Maintain compliance with ISMS, KVKK data‑protection regulations and company procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑6 years of experience in material planning, supply chain or production control, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Proven team‑leadership capability with a focus on process management.
• Strong hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle/Netsis).
• Fluent in English and Turkish, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to reside or relocate to the Sakarya‑Kocaeli region.

Required skills

• SAP MM (or equivalent ERP module).
• Oracle/Netsis ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
