Mechanical Technician

About the role

As a CBRE Mechanical Technician, you will use your skills to maintain buildings, industrial systems, and equipment on an ongoing basis by conducting routine preventive maintenance inspections and making repairs. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed building systems equipment and facilities.
• Assist with modification of building equipment and systems as needed.
• Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs.
• Utilize work order systems to track completion and document repairs.
• Support energy management by ensuring all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools and items needed to complete work orders.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Perform routine inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job‑related experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
• Ability to meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
