National Consultant for LDC SME Digitalization Training Programme

About the role

The Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries is seeking a National Consultant to design, develop, and deliver a digitalisation training programme for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in LDCs. The consultant will lead curriculum creation, manage online and virtual workshop delivery, and ensure successful outcomes for at least 100 participating SMEs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare an Inception Report covering methodology, curriculum approach, workplan, timeline and coordination arrangements.
• Provide technical guidance for the Call for Applications, including SME eligibility and selection criteria.
• Conduct a focused desk review of existing SME digitalisation programmes and international best practices.
• Develop a comprehensive training curriculum, online modules, workshop toolkits, presentations, practical exercises, assignments and facilitator guides.
• Deliver the online training programme, manage participant registration, track participation, collect learning analytics and evaluate results.
• Facilitate live virtual workshops, produce session materials, recordings and summaries.
• Compile a Final Training Programme Report with implementation results, participant statistics, feedback analysis and recommendations for scale‑up.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and delivering digital transformation training for SMEs, preferably in LDC contexts.
• Strong knowledge of digitalisation frameworks, entrepreneurship support initiatives and e‑learning methodologies.
• Ability to coordinate with UNTB and other stakeholders, manage timelines and produce high‑quality reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
