Procurement Chief

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Chief to lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for mining and construction projects. The role works closely with project, engineering, finance and operations teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective sourcing of equipment, spare parts, consumables and construction materials.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes for mining and construction projects.
• Oversee sourcing of equipment, machinery spare parts, consumables and construction materials according to technical specifications.
• Evaluate procurement requests from technical, commercial and operational perspectives and define appropriate strategies.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery conditions and contractual terms with suppliers.
• Maintain strategic supplier relationships, monitor performance and develop alternative supplier networks.
• Identify cost‑optimization opportunities and drive improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, finance and operations teams to ensure procurement is completed effectively and on schedule.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, budget targets and project requirements.
• Produce reporting, analysis and performance monitoring for procurement operations.
• Distribute workload and follow up processes within the team to maintain efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical and Materials Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, technical sourcing, production or technical sales within mining, heavy industry, construction or machinery spare‑parts sectors.
• Proven experience in managing technical procurement and sourcing processes for heavy machinery and related materials.
• Strong background in strategic procurement, supplier management, cost analysis and budget monitoring.
• Excellent negotiation skills regarding pricing, payment terms and delivery conditions.
• Ability to develop alternative suppliers, evaluate performance and implement cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Competence in team coordination, task follow‑up and process management.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Proficiency in English and no travel restrictions.
