Procurement Should Cost Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Should Cost Engineer will develop accurate cost models for Haier Europe using specialized should‑cost software. Working closely with Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering and R&D, the role supports supplier selection, design changes and cost‑saving initiatives across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on part technology, process performance and quality during supplier sourcing.
• Lead investigations and special projects to strengthen relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain part should‑cost models to support engineering and purchasing decisions.
• Analyze supplier quotes and negotiate cost targets using the should‑cost software.
• Research cost structures, benchmark best‑practice processes and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate material and design knowledge into cost improvements.
• Communicate effectively with procurement teams and supplier management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost engineering, procurement or industrial engineering within a multinational environment.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards is a plus.

• Proficiency with should‑cost software solutions.
• Strong data analysis, presentation and database tool skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 requirements.
• Experience in supplier evaluation and auditing.
• Continuous improvement methodologies, process flow analysis and corrective‑action techniques.
• Problem‑solving expertise, including 8D methodology and KPI analysis.
