Project and Contract Engineer

About the role

BASF is seeking a Project and Contract Engineer for its Çayırova production site in Turkey. The role will manage investment projects, plant modifications, and contractor activities, ensuring safe and compliant execution in line with BASF standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Cost estimation, planning, execution, commissioning, documentation, and reporting of investment projects and plant modification works.
• Planning, execution, and follow‑up of major repairs, shutdowns, and turnaround activities related to projects and plant modifications.
• Implementation of BASF guidelines, procedures, standards, and applicable project and plant‑modification management processes.
• Execution and documentation of approved plant modifications in accordance with Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
• Definition of project scope, timeline, budget and coordination with contractors and internal teams.
• Ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and quality throughout all project phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in project engineering, plant modification or contract management within an industrial or chemical production environment.
• Strong coordination, communication and analytical abilities.
• Proactive, structured working style with a strong safety mindset.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including contractors and internal teams.
• Fluency in English and Turkish.
• Residence on Istanbul’s Asian side or in Kocaeli, or willingness to relocate to the region.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
