Project Manager - Banking Portfolio

About the role

A client in the banking domain is looking for a Project Manager with over five years of experience. The project manager is responsible for the success of all projects in the portfolio, planning, executing and delivering them on time, in budget and within scope according to business priorities. They track project status and manage project teams to mitigate issues and risks.

Key responsibilities

• Direct large-scale, complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders
• Create and execute project plans for project, portfolio and product prioritization and implementation
• Evaluate trade-offs between size, complexity, cost, urgency, risk and stakeholder value
• Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
• Build, lead and coach multiple project teams across their life cycles
• Monitor schedules, milestones and vendor accountability on site
• Purchase equipment in line with policies, budgets and operational demand
• Facilitate operational checkpoints and create risk mitigation strategies
• Ensure projects follow company methodology compliance standards
• Prepare status reports, present performance updates and track milestones against an integrated delivery plan
• Ensure projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in the business case

Required profile

• Over five years of project management experience, including large-scale complex projects, or equivalent management experience
• Over five years of banking industry experience
• Experience working in an international company and managing a project
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, management or a related field (master's preferred)

Required skills

• Excellent project management, team leadership, contract management, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills
• Understanding of software development lifecycles such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and iterative approaches (a certificate is preferred)
• Strong knowledge of business objectives and in-depth understanding of project management concepts
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Tools such as Visio, MS Project and Clarity
