Quality Control Director

About the role

Mad Parfumeur, a leading Turkish perfume and cosmetics manufacturer, seeks an experienced Quality Control Director to lead the QC organization at its cosmetics manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for ensuring quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance of raw materials, packaging, bulk and finished products, while driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all Quality Control operations, including raw material, packaging, bulk, and finished product testing.
• Ensure analytical activities are performed accurately, consistently, and within defined specifications and timelines.
• Oversee analytical methods, method validation/verification, equipment qualification, calibration, and maintenance.
• Manage OOS, OOT, deviations, laboratory incidents, and quality‑related investigations.
• Support CAPA, change control, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Cosmetic GMP / ISO 22716 and other applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Establish, review, and maintain product specifications, testing procedures, and laboratory documentation.
• Monitor quality trends, define QC KPIs, and work with Production and R&D to resolve root‑cause issues.
• Support new product development, raw material qualification, process changes, and product transfers from a QC perspective.
• Represent the QC function during customer, supplier, certification, and regulatory audits.
• Lead, coach, and develop the QC team, promoting technical competence and professional growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Quality Control within cosmetics, fragrance, chemical or related manufacturing industries.
• Proven experience in laboratory and team management.

Required skills

• GC/GC‑MS, HPLC, FTIR, UV‑Vis spectroscopy.
• Density, refractive index, and viscosity measurement techniques.
• Analytical method development, validation/verification, and equipment qualification.
• Knowledge of Cosmetic GMP (ISO 22716), ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• OOS/OOT investigation, CAPA, change control and root‑cause analysis.
• Audit experience (internal, customer, supplier, external).
• Strong MS Office skills; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
