R&D Structural Analysis Engineer (CFD)

About the role

Sönmez Transformer Company (STS), a fast-growing energy-sector manufacturer of power transformers, special transformers and reactors founded in 1976, is looking for an R&D Structural Analysis Engineer. The engineer manages and implements the related CFD process, ensures product quality and drives continuous improvement. The position is based at the Dilovası/Kocaeli plant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Finite Element Method (FEM) analyses, including dynamic analyses such as fatigue, stress and life assessment, as well as shock and vibration analyses.
• Perform CFD analyses.
• Carry out geometric modeling and pre-processing activities.
• Prepare and present analysis reports, prepare technical documentation and deliver technical presentations.
• Manage and implement the related CFD process and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a university.
• Knowledge of welded manufacturing and fabrication processes.
• Strong project management and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform CFD analysis and solid understanding of engineering mathematics and physics.
• Proactive, responsible and result-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
• No restrictions for domestic or international travel; able to drive and open to relocation or overseas assignments.
• Available for dynamic, on-site work at the Dilovası/Kocaeli plant.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Fluent.
• Knowledge of optimization techniques used in engineering analysis.
