Research Associate in Artificial Intelligence

About the role

Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join its newly established AI R&D Laboratory. The role involves leading cutting‑edge research in NLP, large language models and predictive analytics within an academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑impact research in specialized AI domains such as NLP, LLM or Institutional Intelligence.
• Teach one undergraduate or graduate course per semester and supervise at least one graduate student.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI models into the Campus Information System.
• Prepare and submit research grant proposals to agencies like TÜBİTAK or Horizon Europe.
• Manage the lab’s multi‑node GPU computing infrastructure, including networking and system administration.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier AI conferences or journals.
• Experience developing LLM‑based applications or predictive models is a plus.
• Research philosophy focused on translating theoretical AI models into practical applications.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with distributed GPU computing, cluster networking and Linux server administration.
