Room Automation Technician

About the role

The Room Automation Technician ensures that guest rooms and related facilities operate smoothly by responding to repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and handling a wide range of technical systems. This position works closely with guests, housekeeping, and engineering teams to maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic systems.
• Carry out minor repairs such as painting, drywall, wood trim, light‑bulb and filter replacement.
• Operate shut‑off valves, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and manage utility controls.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift handovers.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping upkeep, including sprinkler system maintenance.
• Program televisions and update air‑handler schedules using basic computer skills.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and follow safety and security policies.
• Physical capability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb and perform manual tasks.
• Clear communication skills with guests and team members.
• Professional appearance and respect for confidentiality.
