Senior Accountant

About the role

MTIT, a Castles Technology company, is hiring a Senior Accountant. The role supports the Senior Accountant in carrying out accounting, financial reporting and statutory compliance activities accurately and on time, independently managing assigned accounting processes and contributing to month-end close, audit and tax reporting in line with Castles Group policies and Turkish GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly accounting entries and support timely month-end close under Turkish GAAP
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
• Prepare management profit and loss reports and assist with variance analysis
• Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare depreciation calculations
• Monitor accounts payable, employee expenses and accounts receivable
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and support intercompany recharge processes
• Assist with product gross margin calculations and analyse significant variances
• Support cash management and prepare banking transactions
• Prepare VAT returns and support corporate tax compliance with schedules and working papers
• Assist with statutory accounts, prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors
• Respond to corporate and business unit requests for accounting information and support management reporting and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls, identify process improvement opportunities and prepare ad hoc reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Minimum 4-6 years of accounting experience; experience in multinational companies preferred
• Good knowledge of Turkish GAAP; IFRS knowledge is an advantage
• Strong month-end closing and financial reporting experience
• Good understanding of VAT and corporate tax processes
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
• ERP experience (Oracle experience is an advantage)
