Senior Counsel - Insurance Sector

About the role

Marsh Türkiye is looking for a commercially oriented in-house counsel to join its management team in the Istanbul office. The role supports the corporate legal needs of Marsh's brokerage and risk advisory businesses in Türkiye and reports to the Chief Counsel of Marsh Italy, East Med & Caspian Region. It is a hybrid position with three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to management on a broad range of Marsh's brokerage and risk advisory businesses in Türkiye.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts such as client service agreements, RFPs, consulting and confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements and technology contracts.
• Support the development and negotiation of strategic alliance, joint marketing and referral agreements with third parties, including in reinsurance, cyber and technology.
• Advise on the company's innovation initiatives and new products and solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in law with 7+ years of experience in the insurance sector.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Energetic, self-motivated and result-oriented.
• Excellent judgment, communication and negotiating skills, financial acumen, project management skills and teamwork.
• Attention to detail, analytical ability, discretion with confidential information and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Legal and commercial judgment, with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
