Senior Full-Stack AI Engineer

About the role

Avenga is seeking a Senior Full-Stack AI Engineer to design and deliver end‑to‑end AI systems in a fast‑moving R&D environment. You will work on large‑scale geological data pipelines, multi‑agent back‑ends, and interactive 3D visualisations.

Key responsibilities

• Scrape, ingest and process massive geospatial datasets and expose them via performant Python/FastAPI services.
• Design and orchestrate multi‑agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain, including supervisor/worker patterns and state management.
• Develop generative AI solutions with LLMs (Gemini, Anthropic, OpenAI) and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation architectures, handling embeddings, semantic search and prompt engineering.
• Integrate vector databases (Vertex AI RAG Engine, Pinecone, FAISS) and implement function calling and external tool usage.
• Build asynchronous pipelines to support long‑running processes and ensure robust data validation with Pydantic.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in AI/ML system design and leadership, capable of defining technical direction beyond individual agents.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, ownership and ability to work independently in a rapidly changing R&D setting.

Required skills

• Python programming and API development with FastAPI.
• Async programming and long‑running process handling.
• LangGraph, LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with LLMs such as Gemini, Anthropic, OpenAI.
• Deep knowledge of RAG architectures, embeddings, semantic search and prompt design.
• Vector database expertise (Vertex AI RAG Engine, Pinecone, FAISS).
• Pydantic or equivalent data‑validation frameworks.
