Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Mapfre is seeking a highly motivated Senior Internal Auditor to join its Corporate Audit Services Department. You will work on audits, fraud investigations and special reviews, contributing to the improvement of internal controls across the insurance business.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audits according to the approved audit plan and ensure compliance with internal methodologies, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare audit working papers, develop clear findings and recommendations, and draft audit reports.
• Conduct fraud investigations, special audits and ad‑hoc reviews as required.
• Follow up on audit recommendations, monitor action plans and ensure timely completion of audit milestones.
• Coordinate with business units, communicate results to stakeholders and support the preparation of the Internal Audit Plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Insurance, Actuarial Science or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in internal or external audit, internal control, finance or actuarial functions, preferably within insurance or pension sectors.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and capacity to make independent, objective judgments.
• Excellent written and spoken English and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
