Senior Project Manager – Thermal Power Projects

About the role

FICHTNER is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead thermal power projects, including geothermal, biogas, biomass and conventional plants, in Turkey. You will be responsible for ensuring successful project execution from design through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Define, coordinate and control work packages, budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with external and internal partners, prepare due‑diligence and feasibility reports.
• Lead technical clarification meetings, contract negotiations and tender specifications.
• Design thermal power plant components, prepare flow charts, layouts and drawings.
• Review contractor design documents, support site erection and commissioning activities.
• Perform site visits, monitor operational parameters and liaise with technical specialists worldwide.
• Support sales activities with technical inputs.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Environmental or Civil Engineering with an energy focus.
• 10+ years of project management experience in energy or heavy industry, preferably with thermal power plant projects.
• Strong understanding of project management processes, risk and claim management.
• Leadership experience in technical due‑diligence, feasibility studies and specification preparation.
• Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is an asset.
• Fluent in English and Turkish; German or Arabic is a plus.
• Driving licence B and willingness to travel within Turkey and abroad.
